What Can Go In My Can?
Newspapers:
- Including ads and other paper inserts. Put in cart loose.
Corrugated Cardboard and Grey Board:
- Including cereal, cracker, cookie and shoe boxes. Flatten all boxes and place in cart loose. No boxes with wax coating or food residue, please.
Scrap Paper:
- Including magazines, catalogs, junk mail, phone books, post it notes, envelopes, non-foil wrapping paper and cards, paper towels and toilet paper cores, egg cartons, and paper bags. Please, no shredded paper.
Plastic Bottles and Tubs #1-5:
- Including buckets and planting/nursery pots 5 gallons or smaller and larger than 4 inches in diameter. Remove and rinse to remove food residue or dirt. No packing peanuts or styrofoam.
Aluminum, Steel and Tin Cans:
- Including EMPTY aerosol cans and pie trays. Rinse cans to remove food residue. No foil, please.
What Should I Keep Out Of My Can?
Used Motor Oil:
- Place in a plastic jug with tight fitting (screw on) lid and place next to your roll cart on your regular pick up day. No antifreeze or solvents.
Plastic Bags
- Can be dropped off at the Highway 101 Recycling Center.
Glass Bottles and Jars
- Rinse, remove lids, and separate by color (Brown, Green, Clear). No Pyrex, China, Glassware, or Window Glass. Can be dropped of at a glass collection depot at the Highway 101 recycling center, 570 SE Shell in Depoe Bay, or 1259 Salmon River Hwy (behind the Otis Cafe).
