We are excited to announce the expansion of our
new Mixed Recycling Program county wide!
Service Area: Starting in December, areas as far
south as Beverly Beach to as far north as Rose Lodge
will now have the convenience of recycling from home.
We are currently in the process of delivering 95 gallon
recycling carts to all of our customers, so please
watch for your new cart.
Recyclable Items: The mixed recycling includes
cardboard (please flatten), all types of paper (please
make sure shredded paper is bagged in paper bags)
plastic bottles, tubs, and trays with the number 1-7,
and aluminum & tin (please rinse well - no need to
take off the labels). Motor oil can be placed next to
the cart in a screw-on-cap container for pick up.
Otherwise, everything can be placed loosely in the
cart - that easy! As always, our recycling center
takes plastic bags and glass. You can also drop off
your glass bottles at the Otis Junction by the Otis Café
and at Depoe Bay behind Depoe Bay City Hall.
Non-Recyclable Items: There are a few items
to keep out of your recycling cart, such as glass,
Styrofoam, paper towels/ napkins, and plastic bags
.

Schedule: Recycle carts will be picked up twice a
month starting in December. Those north of the "D" River
will begin getting picked up on their normal garbage day
the first week of December and those south of the "D" River
will begin getting picked up on their normal garbage day
the second week of December. Please remember, service
is twice a month regardless of your normal garbage service.
Recycling carts may or may not fall on your normal garbage
service day. For example, if your garbage day is Tues and
you live north of “D” River, your recycling will be serviced
December 2nd then every two weeks after that. You don’t
have to set out your recycling bin if it’s not full, but we will
only be by your address every other week.
You can download and print a calendar of service times
here. 2008-2009 Recycle Service Time Calendar
Roll Cart Placement: If your recycling day falls on the
same day as your garbage day, be sure to place cans out
3 feet from each other. Remember to place on the edge of
the street if any cars are blocking your cans. If your garbage
service is carry out, your recycling will be carry out as well.
If recycling more reduces the amount of garbage you are
putting into your garbage can, then call us to reduce your
garbage service and save some money!
We hope you are as excited with the new program as we
are! Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have at (541) 994-5555. Our goal is to help make this a happy and easy transition for all of
our customers.
