11/22/23 Thanksgiving Schedule + Tips & Tricks

Happy Thanksgiving from our team to yours! We hope you're celebrating with family & friends and enjoying a delicious meal together. We are grateful for YOU! Our community is incredible and we want to thank you today for working alongside us at NLSS. 🍁🦃

As a reminder, your garbage, recycling, and mixed compost pick ups won't be effected by the holiday.

• All routes are on schedule.
• The transfer station is closed.
• The recycling center is open from 8-12pm.
• The office is closed.

Wondering what to do with your Thanksgiving leftovers? We are here to help with some Thanksgiving tips & tricks to a more sustainable holiday.

Recycle: ♻

• Carboard boxes
• Canned cranberry sauce
• Soda or sparkling water cans
• Pro Tip! You can recycle your wine and beer glass at the Recycling Center (1726 SE Hwy 101)

Compost: 🌱

• Veggie food scraps
• Egg cartons
• Used paper plates

Reuse: 🍽

• Cloth napkins
• Turkey basters
• Leftovers for your whole family (35% of a Thanksgiving turkey is thrown away & around 25% of the overall feast is discarded, too...let's reduce these numbers!)
