This year's Household Hazardous Waste Event is on July 26th, 2025 from 10am-2pm at North Lincoln Sanitary Service - Recycling Center (1756 SE Hwy 101, Lincoln City, OR 97367). This is a free collection event through Lincoln County Solid Waste District that rotates around to all three haulers in Lincoln County every year.
Materials accepted at the Household Hazardous Waste Event include:
Poisons: pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and other poisons
Heavy Metals: mercury & products containing elemental mercury (including fluorescent tubes)
Corrosives: acids, bases, and reactives
Flammables: solvents, gasoline, automotive fluids
Lithium-ion Batteries: all types accepted
A few reminders:
- No containers larger than 5 gallons in capacity
- No cylinders accepted (contact NLSS for options)
- No sharps or other medications (contact NLSS for options)
- No explosives: such as bullets, fireworks, flames/aerial flares
- No Commercial/Business Materials without application and prearranged appointment
Be safe when handling hazardous materials. Keep products in their original containers. If a container is leaking, secure it with a secondary leak-proof container. Box up materials and seal lids tight. At the event, keep your windows rolled up and locate hazardous waste in the trunk or back of truck bed, so staff may easily remove items.
