Recycling Tip of the month! What plastic items are now accepted in your curbside Recycling Roll Cart?
Plastic Tubs
- Larger than 2" x 2"
- Plastic Identifier: #1 PET, #2 HDPE, #5 PET
- Examples: Cottage Cheese, Sour Cream
Bottles & Jugs
- Larger than 2" x 2"
- Made of clear, transparent blue, and green plastics
- Plastic Identifier: #1 PET, #2 HDPE, #5 PP
- Examples: Soda Bottles, Milk Jugs, Soap Bottles
Buckets, Pails, & Storage Containers
- Required to fit loosely in the roll cart
- Plastic Identifier: #1 PET, #2 HDPE, #3 PP
- Examples: 5-Gallon Buckets, Cat Litter Pails
Nursery Packaging & Trays
- Plastic Identifier: #2 HDPE, #5 PP
- Examples: Green or Black Plant Pots
All other plastic items will need to go in the garbage. As a reminder, the most common contaminants (garbage in the recycling) to avoid putting in your recycling are: NO batteries, NO Styrofoam, NO glass, and NO plastic wrapping/bags.
