Recycling Tip of the week! What metal items are now accepted in your curbside Recycling Roll Cart?
Steel Cans
- Includes empty/dry paint cans (paint cans with paint in them can be recycled at the Recycling Center 1726 SE Hwy 101 free of charge)
- Examples: Soup & Fruit Cans, Paint Cans
Aluminum Food & Beverage Cans
- Examples: Soda, Water, & Beer Cans
Scrap Metal
- Less than 10 lbs. in weight and less than 18 in. in length (see below for larger items)
- Excludes sharp items (e.g. knives) and tanglers (e.g. wires, cords, bicycle chains)
All other scrap metal items can be picked up at your home/business via appointment for a small charge or dropped off at the Recycling Center (1726 SE Hwy 101) and Schooner Creek Refuse Transfer Station (288 S Anderson Creek Rd) free of charge.
As a reminder, the most common contaminants (garbage in the recycling) to avoid putting in your recycling are: NO batteries, NO Styrofoam, NO glass, and NO plastic wrapping/bags.
